why does every Nintendo franchise have to be open world now? Why can this company not get over Breath of the Wild?
>the only good open world there is Xenoblade X, a game that wasn't made by Nintendo
really makes you think
>>714159484 (OP)Wonder wasn't open world.
>Why is a company copying a formula that made them more millions of sales than previous installments in a franchise.
Truly a mystery, anon. Better call Scooby and gang to solve this one.
Boring, check this five instead
I don't see how animal crossing is any more open than the gamecube one
>>714159484 (OP)i think it's fine if it's just a phase where nintendo was interested in the idea of constantly rewarding players for poking around and exploring an open world stuffed with findables to produce maximum dopamine/player engagement. but yeah it's time to move on and try to innovate in a different direction, i think the magic trick has worn off for a lot of players
>>714159815That's literally a stage select screen overworld. You could say NSMB U is open world by your definition then.
>>714159815So is Super Mario 3D World an open world because of its map screen? Gonna need to update your chart.
>>714159815can't believe mario was open world on the snes
>>714159815You are so stupid you made me LOL
In what way is Super Mario Wonder, a 2D side-scrolling game, "open world"? However, I agree that Zelda needs to return to its roots, as open worlds sucks for these types of games
>>714159484 (OP)Nintendo has reached 2007
>>714159815Mario Land 2 was like this
>>714159484 (OP)I can't speak for all of them but Xenoblade X was much better than 1 and Pokemon SV was much better than SwSh so maybe they're on the right track
