NT is weird, they have nothing major that they are working on and it took like 7 years to get Hellblade 2 out. it sold like shit but got awards. NT covers development costs by having their own Mocap studio that other companies (including Sony) use frequently so they sort of pay for themselves?

Phil and the other leaders clearly wanted to just buy out the console market. They wanted to own their studio and keep future titles off other competitors' platforms. Like we have leaked emails stating that Microsoft wanted to buy more studios to strangle the competition and compete with them. Then it seems like big Daddy Microsoft said, "we just wrote you a check for almost 100 billion dollars, you're gonna start making that money back NOW," and they had to drastically change the plans.
