Honkai Star Rail is mostly hype moments and aura. It does a good job of presenting a cool setting and interesting characters that you want to roll for and use, but the actual story and script is typical chinkshit. I'm also pretty sure at least 20% is written by chatGPT or whatever the chink equivalent is since every patch is standardized at about 8 hours long. You can imagine how much text is in there and how much is actually relevant to the story.

I'm still playing it though because the production values are off the charts. P5X actually feels sloppy in comparison with poor optimization and all the jank.

It's hard to explain so I'll explain it with a Mihoyo game. Genshin Impact has a hard pity of 80 summons and once you hit 80 then the 80th summon is guaranteed to be a 5*, but Genshin Impact also has a soft pity system that starts at 60 summons and each single summon after 60 increases the odds a little bit that you will get that 5* before hitting 80.
P5X had a similar system in CN, but people are sure that there is no soft pity going on in Global.

I think soft pity also makes pulling more fun, and not just because it makes the characters "cheaper" by reducing the average amount of pulls to get a character. With soft pity after you reach the soft pity, you start anticipating the character but it's still relatively random on where you get it. With only hard pity it's just misery until the cap and then you just pray that you win the 50/50 and it will feel absolutely soul crushing to go all the way to hard pity and lose it

Ryuji really sucks for Elec damage, and his special physical attack takes a turn to charge up. While it does unparalleled levels of fuck you damage, it means you miss out on one of his turns for a potential 1 More. Morgana is the best healer right now, but apparently Minami, who should be releasing next, is far superior. And Morgana's Lucky Punch is pretty much a dead skill.
Ann unfortunately is way less versatile than the other two, but it's not like you'll ever bring her to something that nulls fire.
