I really wanted to like Suicide Squad. One; because I didn't want to think that the studio that made the Arkham games had wasted seven years on this project. And two; at it's core there is some level of Sunset Overdrive style kinetic fun in the traversal and combat.

Unfortunately it's all ruined by a terrible writing and premise, mission objectives that are as boring as Public Events in Destiny 2, RPG stats and mechanics to justify the live-service aspect loot grind without the ability to make any actually fun builds.

I swear the game was at its best when you took advantage of a bug that miscalculated how the game stacked burn damage, giving you insane DPS. Of course, Rocksteady's response was to patch it out ASAP so you could go back to unloading entire clips into Brutes just to take them out.
