if this game released today it would be hailed as a masterpiece, an instant classic and sweep every award

The optional missions were annoying as fuck to complete. They basically required a complete mission restart even if you screwed up a single time and most of them were co op anyways, which didn't help at all considering I never knew anyone else i could play it with.

Best SC.

Played it on the hardest difficulty with all the aids turned off. Switched to easy for the last boss fight because it's just a qte and it was doing my head in. Did the rest of the game on the highest difficulty as ghost though.

The annoying part about the game is playing as Briggs and only being able to play in first person and only being able to do lethal.

Play BL on the hardest difficulty with all the aids turned off. It is the best SC game and a lot harder than CT.

Double Agent and Conviction really disappointed me, is Blacklist really that good? It's hard to trust Ubislop past a certain point in their history, and the lack of Michael Ironside was disappointing.

I enjoyed it, thought it was better than the other SC games after the original trilogy. As a stealth game, BL on the hardest difficulty playing as ghost with all the aids turned of is one of the best stealth games.

Nope, great game.

Blacklist is legit, especially on the hardest difficultly and all
>the lack of Michael Ironside was disappointing.
True, he had cancer at the time so he couldn't do the job, new VA sounds out of place a bit

Chaos Theory is fun on every difficulty without having to disable a ton of game mechanics and setting arbitrary restrictions for yourself.

missions too linear and dictated by story shit
nothing more annoying in a stealth game than being interrupted by a cutscene, and having your character be spotted during that cutscene, when you've spent like 20 minutes before that trying to ghost the shit out of it
i'll keep on playing hitman WoA i guess

potential ruined by "le play your own way xD" shit (actually it just means you can do far cry stealth, or gun down everyone real easy)
literally the antithesis of stealth
if you're gonna make a "play your own way" kind of stealth game, all those "ways" should be focused on stealthing and level design, kinda like the new Hitman games
I also hate how you either crouch walk fast, or very fast with no inbetweens and a really awkard, floaty and imprecise stop
Back in Chaos Theory in 2005 there was like 5 or 6 crouch walk speeds depending on how far you pushed the joystick
and if you let go of the joystick, sam would stop dead in his tracks and he would keep the same position for a few seconds until he found a more comfortable position

Nah
It's just conviction 2.0 with some minor elements from classic games that are useless in blacklist
>fps section
>drone sections
>forced action setpieces (train and airport)
Holy cringe

>Blacklist really that good?
No
It is basically conviction with a better level design (for the most part)

The whole game is annoying as fuck because of the checkpoint system
Same bullshit as Hitman Absolution for instance
A true stealth game has a manual save state system that lets you experiment freely and prevents you from losing hours of your fucking life because of a minor mistake
I don't care if that manual save system makes it seem easy, it's just how stealth games should be played

Correct me if I am wrong but BL checkpoints did not mess up enemy placement upon reloading or your load out, unlike checkpoints from absolution

Yes but the base principle is still the same
Nothing more infuriating than ghosting a section of a level flawlessly in a very cinematic style, only for you to get spotted or fuck up somewhere right at the end
Boom, you're set back 30 minutes
