last I heard is that elite dangerous added walking and all the SC backers malded, and that was years ago. is it "done" yet or still in development hell (see: whale milking mode)

It's never going to be "done" anon, it's a fucking scam. They have three options:

>The law will eventually come down on them and they'll create the most shitty experience for a game possible and use their funds to snake through as many legal loopholes as possible to say they created what was advertised.
>The law will come down on them and they'll use the remaining funds to come up with a technically legal justification for canceling the project without having to refund anyone and Roberts will be able to keep a small fortune in backer money to live comfortably in hiding.
>Roberts just uses the money to go into hiding in some SEA country and is never heard from again after illegally canceling the project and not issuing refunds.

There's a reason it's called Scam Citizen. It's been a decade and they have fuck all to show for a full fledged game. Someone please post the release window from like 2015 because I don't have it saved unfortunately.

ED's walking is bad though and requires a separate loading screen to make use of.
Star citizen is still being made and development speed has drastically increased in the past few years.
Allegedly the single player game will be released some time next year but they have said such things a few times in the past.
If you like space games it's one of the few choices available and likely one of the better ones.
Overall game focus has shifted from NPC driven things to more of a player focus and now they are attempting to court fps players by making tarkov style fps events.
In the most recent patch they added a huge worm that spits radiation goo at you that's pretty fun.
I wouldn't spend much money on it right now though myself.
