There is zero will in EU Parliament to actually draft legislation to formally codify this nebulous demand.

In that case how do you explain the fact that shills are so scared that they're posting Very Illegal content in these threads to try to shut it down? :)

Corpos are scared. Very scared. There's a reason why.

Have you looked at an iPhone charging port recently btw? :)

Not the rationale here.
The problem is that this "initiative" cannot offer specific and reasonable parameters for the desired regulation.
That's the value of lobbyists.
They draft a tentative bill to be revised and debated by legislature, also providing data and legal precedence to support it.

Stop Killing Games is just a vague demand with no legal argument or basis, and it wastes the collective enthusiasm and zeitgeist that might have otherwise been appropriated for something more concrete and actionable.

Sadly no, you need a valid ID from an EU country or your vote won't be counted (you can fill the form but the number won't even go up at all, they know which IDs exist and which ones don't). But if you have friends from the EU that you play with on discord or something, feel free to send it to them. Even if you can't vote directly, you can almost certainly get someone to vote, and that's still +1 vote. So in a way, you can vote, it's just a bit more effort.

That regulation had material justification in reducing e-waste.

You have to understand that to even show up on the website, these initiatives actually have to pass a pre-screening. If it's good enough for the EU to say "yeah ok this looks fine, we'll let them get signatures" then there's nothing to worry on this front. It's a citizen initiative, not a law draft.

You're selling a product as a good and then taking that good away from the customer. The only reason why it's not explicitly forbidden in the EU is that legislators haven't looked into it. This petition *WILL* cause legislators to look into it. They are legally forced to.

Most the big content creators don't even live in the EU. A few did videos when it first started and probably just assumed people would sign it. Now that it's almost over and was at like 50% people realized they need to bring attention to it or it's fucked. It helped that there's drama involved now which gives a billion free views.
