Honestly what annoys me the most is how disconnected Amphoreus is to the wider story. Like yes every planet has its own story, but even Belobog had the context of being a planet formerly in contact with the IPC and that was the source or their technology. Space China & Penacony all built upon the foundations of what we know about the wider setting. Amphoreus does the whole "it's cut off from the rest of the universe" and we get 4 patches worth of loredumping nonsense concepts that will be instantly discarded as soon as we leave the planet. It especially hurts that we only have two characters from the Express so most of the screentime is wanking off the new characters that are getting killed off before they're made playable.

It's just so disconnected from everything narratively in a way that previous planets were not, so it feels like a distraction from the wider story and not an addition. Even if we get a lore payoff in 3.4, 5 patches worth of dogshit is not worth slogging through to get to the fucking point.
That's not even to begin talking about the black screens and time wasting bullshit like "this is a dangerous trial by combat, now go solve ball pushing puzzles for the next 30 minutes".

Did you watch the latest lore video or actually read the story quests? Amphoreus is powered by a rupert scepter and a lord ravager is sealed in there. There’s also the fact that the chrysos heirs have golden blood just like Nanook. Also we know that Jingliu is counting on a bunch of stuff exploding but I think that explosion of events depends on the outcome of what happens in Amphoreus.

That info first came out in the second epilogue with Herta taking place outside of Amphoreus. Again, an example of how disconnected and disjointed the whole story was.
Lots of people have said it, but my problem is with how the story is told. I already had issues with the pacing in Penacony being hurt by the varioua red herring distractions but Amphoreus drip-feeding and probably backloading the only parts of the plot that are actually important has me genuinely pissed off at the level of filler stuffing on display.

Like, grinding for materials is tedious if you don't have units capable of clearing grinding stages on auto, and the game is more of a stat/gear check than others because its a turn based RPG where you can't like dodge or parry.

It's strange how MHY never sought to capitalize on Kafka. From the start she was easily the most iconic character in the game. Yet she's probably one of the characters with the least amount of screentime and is the only character in the game who has a personal quest that can be skipped. Only explanation other than the devs not liking her is that they are saving her for later but I wouldn't expect much at this point.

No, if Herta/the outside crew is important to this story then they shouls be involved more in the story outside of showing up for 5 minutes at the end of each patch. They don't have to be on Amphoreus, but how about removing some of the unimportant bullshit and have the story split more evenly between TB/DH and the outside crew doing their thing.

You thinking that the outside group would be doing "unimportant bullshit" is because the writer decided to make the story that way to justify assblasting the player with 11 hours of filler and only 5 minutes of plot progression each patch.

I know it may be difficult, but try to conceive a possible alternative future in which the writer was not a cocksucking faggot retard dipshit and instead designed the entire Amphoreus story to have a more interesting interplay between the two groups. Perhaps major things happening in Amphoreus are observed by the outside group and given more context, perhaps there is an external layer of Amphoreus that the outside group can do stuff on that might impact the TB inside Amphoreus.

This is true and from a business standpoint understandable. I kinda wish they went about it in a better way though. Like, TB/DH being stuck & isolated on Amphoreus is an interesting setup but I kinda feel like that also limits what kind or storytelling you can do for the filler. March being put on ice is an interesting plot hook but it feels awkward if it takes like 5+ patches to pay off and each patch they have to remind the player she's still on ice. I wouldn't mind the filler if it involved March getting up to shenanigans cuz at least that is developing the core Express crew in some way (like the wardance story). You can skip a lot of the hard content and ignore the primo rewards by reminding yourself you need to pull meta to clear them so it is a net primo loss.
You're going to need to add some whales and use their e6 powercrept cancer to farm newer weekly bosses in a timely manner. Yes, you said story, but you also mentioned builds so I assume you want the boss materials to finish leveling your characters. It's doable but it's not as f2p/favorite friendly as Genshin.
Don't listen to retards telling you otherwise. They're all lying to you. You specifically said garbage units, and they're going to ignore that part when they convince you Star Rail isn't powercreepy by claiming specific (((ftp))) teams can clear x.

The nature of how the game is structured means that there will always be issues with the pacing. It's the reason why we have filler shit like the Rappa chapter and Hoolay. If they cut Amphoreus in half, we'd just be returning to Xianzhou for more annoying Xianzhou nonsense.

I only just recently started (haven't gotten any limited characters yet) and I'm totally lost, every new character is seemingly designed around 3 specific other characters so I have no idea how I'm even meant to get started building my roster

Or, real advice, try to get characters/a team that can grind stages on auto. That will make building future characters possible.
You probably want 1 limited character that can carry you when it comes to grinding that doesn't have hard requirements when it comes to team building. Example: Break teams want Harmony MC who is free, Ruan Mei was given for free recently (if you missed then RIP) and Gallagher who is a 4 star.
Idk who is on banner now or upcoming but try to get someone who hits multiple targets to make group farming easier. The Herta would be a good choice, you can put her with free 4 star Herta and remTB who is free.

I think part of the Amphoreus fatigue is that we're locked on Amphoreus due to story reasons and thus every single event or filler arc must also be on Amphoreus, not allowed to have a pokemon event on Belobog just for a change of scenery.
