Difference is that playing most sports takes a lot of effort, equipment, a group of people, and the right time.
You can't decide to have a quick game of baseball at 4 AM
But anyone can play videogames whenever
It's much more comparable to people who discuss books and authors but don't actually read them

What point is he trying to make? What's the context here? Yeah those are two similar things, but what's being argued here?

I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with watching youtube videos about games, depending on the reasons you're doing it. Anything can become a negative thing if done with the wrong intentions, or if done at the expense of your physical or mental health.

I wonder why people watch rich kids play games instead of buying 10 games a month.

It's like not reading a book but instead having someone read it to you in an audiobook. It's just easier and some people prefer it that way and that's fine.

There are a lot of games I'd like to watch but would never like to play.
They're different experiences, so even if you watch someone play something, playing it yourself after is different enough to be worth it.
There's nothing wrong with watching someone play something UNLESS you try to announce you're a fan of something that you ONLY watched.

Shit analogy.
The ESPN enjoyer isn't watching the amateur league and giving al their money to the players for a .0001% chance the team will say their name.
Watching sport is not a virtual friendship service. I don't give two shits about sport honestly and even I can make this distinction.
People that watch others play video games are all simps.
