4 has much more content to it, a proper item world, magichange, more weapon skills, and post game. 7 has better story maps I find, some really difficult boss fights, enjoyable cast/story and weapon mastery, though you only get four skills, so that is a step back. 7 just doesn't give you much of a reason to play past beating the game as you only have a few post story battles and then Baal. Now the switch 2 version is supposed to come with more content and extra modes, but I am not familiar with them to say one way or the other on that.
