It's a hack and slash open world action RPG. It's character swap style. If you've been playing Genshin, then essentially similar, but focusing more on combos rather than swapping characters for elemental reactions. Also, swapping between characters is seamless during combat in WuWa. Here are a few examples.

You have infinite stamina when running around and while out of combat (similar to Elden Ring). You can wall run to climb faster, you have a grapple hook and air dash for easy traversal. In the new area, you can fly.

The game gives you a lot of free gibs and lets you select 1 standard 5-star of your choosing, and lets you select 1 standard 5-star in a beginner banner (like getting a guaranteed Noelle, but it's a 5-star).

WuWa characters have unique moves outside of the usual normal, skill, hold attack, and burst. Some can do air combos, activating a kill or burst unlocks new movesets, a charged hold attack can either be an AoE or another combo string. And add seamless swapping of characters (if you go quick swap instead of full rotation style), WuWa offers a lot of skill expression. You can even solo endgame content if you want.
