Basically, if you played games from 99-07, you only need to see the trends from Crysis -> Crysis 2 -> Crysis 3.. only the 1st game was made for PC, and only the 1st game "made sense to build PC for", rest of the games didn't make sense. It's same story with other games that got made for consoles (some were good games sadly), such as Rainbow Six Vegas 1 and 2, some really gorgeous looking third person shooters, ran like hot fucking garbage on PC because "PC as a platform was abandoned" pretty much. It kinda start coming back somewhere 2014 or something with BF1 and other pretentious shit, but I couldn't care anymore, the damage was already done, the normies had already rewarded Todd for making Skyrim (which, again, Morrowind -> Oblivion -> Skyrim, clear path of regression), the industry was already doomed. MH Wilds is just continuation of this same story, probably not even the worst case, but it's clear sign that PC has been an after thought for 2 decades now.

Eh, I have one and it's a very flawed system that relies to heavily on its "community" (mostly trans) to fix all of its shortcomings, like with Decky Loader. Way too much tinkering involved to simply play a game.

Other than playing Metal Gear Rising on it, I just use mine to try out demos on the Steam store and then buy them elsewhere.

Yeah, nah, I don't think you can. It would be difficult to carry a laptop and a controller at once and then use them without accidentally dropping the laptop.

I'm more about general lack of detail
One of the things I noticed about playing any more "AAA" games even before the deck (on the Switch for instance) is that I miss a lot of detail on a smaller screen, no matter the resolution on that thing. I actually thing 720p on the deck is not bad at all. But many games don't scale well because I guess they didn't expect 720p resolutions to take it to mean that you had a portable platform to use. There's in fact games now coming out with updated versions to maximize compatibility with deck, and the screen size is one of the concerns. Well, I'm also concerned about some games not scaling up well unless you have 1080p available for some reason, like Suikoden remaster.
I also noticed the zooming in that some ports have on the switch, and I believe there is a point there. Nine Sols on PC is rather zoomed out. On a normal screen it looks perfect, but on a Deck not so. The sprites look tiny and it gets a bit more difficult to tell the detail on them even when downscaled from higher resolutions. The game even has to be modded to use the native resolution the deck has (1280x800). The Switch version however zooms in enough to where the character takes a bit more of the screen, comparably. You see less for sure, but it's just more comfortable to play. This is not like decreasing FoV or anything like that.
