If they're not debunking the technical claims i couldn't care less about whether he's an asshole. What i agree with him on is that Digital Foundry are shitting out awful misinformation content and don't know what they're talking about in their technical analyses. He brought attention to what many people never had the platform to do.

Nothing wrong with UE. It is mere coincidence that studios across the globe from small to big old and new struggle to make any game run well on the engine. No, that is unpossible i tells ye! Thus based on the previous FACT anyone saying the engine is flawed is obviously just grifting.

Only because they've never had anyone in this space challenging their views on what the the ideal performance cost of nanite should be. They're not an authority on anything if their own information was scrutinized in the way TI brought it to light.

>In May 2002, Roosendaal started the non-profit Blender Foundation, with the first goal to find a way to continue developing and promoting Blender as a community-based open-source project. On July 18, 2002, Roosendaal started the "Free Blender" campaign, a crowdfunding precursor.[20][21] The campaign aimed at open-sourcing Blender for a one-time payment of €100,000 (USD 100,670 at the time), with the money being collected from the community.[22] On September 7, 2002, it was announced that they had collected enough funds and would release the Blender source code. Today, Blender is free and open-source software, largely developed by its community as well as 26 full-time employees and 12 freelancers employed by the Blender Institute

So we have ex-Microsoft exec GabeN starting a company with his own money. Some literal who with no track record or credentials or any paper trail or anyone to vouch for him beyond what he says, asking for donations to fix Unreal. And you think there is some equivalence here because GabeN doesn't program at Valve. You're probably TI himself.

news flash retard, the world isnt an elitist circlejerk where a few people impose their retarded stances based on their "recognized authority and expertise" for sheep like you to fellate. I dont care what background he has, if he points out the problem when something sucks, and nobody can provide any real counterargument, then i see no reason not to believe them

I was developing a game like this centered on exploring foreign cultures and acquiring artifacts, but my consultancy group advised me to pivot away from themes that might be seen as promoting cultural appropriation or exploitation, recommending instead a focus on respectful cultural collaboration or fictional worlds to ensure sensitivity and avoid misrepresentation, so I just scrapped it. I assume that's the only reason why we haven't seen games with such fidelity being released.

No.
Even if you did spend 900k why would this even matter?

You seriously think Epic intends for their engine to run like shit? Like they haven't invested 100x that in people to make it work as good as possible?
At the end of the day lazy and rushed developers will still fuck up performance even if you magically improve the rasterization of the telemetry pipeline for enhanced fidelity by 8%

This little shit can petition a company to hire him to make their shitty games cranked out in as short of time as possible run better.

But he's not doing anything himself. Not a line of code, not a single new feature. He says he's going to use the money to hire the graphics programmers who will do that. So... why should I give any money to him - basically an idea guy middle-man who contributes nothing - instead of skipping a step and donating directly to some developer who actually makes plugins or improvements to the engine?
