I'm going to upgrade from a 4060 to a 5080 in three months (console player mindset, only upgrade if I see a big difference in performance), will 16GB VRAM last until another upgrade of same magnitude appears without being forced to buy a xx90 card ?

UE5 games require upscaling and frame generation to not look like an NES game. In that field, AMD is just a shitty Nvidia.

I have a 4070 Super
Only game I've been playing that's a little bit intensive and IMO not well optimized is E33. But I still can get around 80fps out of it.
I don't have a compelling reason to switch to a 9070xt even if I can afford it, at least for now. From what I've seen, linux support isn't flawless for these newer ones. Which was one of the biggest reasons for me to switch. Not to mention I doubt they fixed the VRR over HDMI 2.1 thing there.

Do these drivers only help the newest series or will my trusty 7900XTX be helped as well?
I've had no driver issues since getting the card, and for that reason have never updated the drivers

9060XT should've been $270 and the 9070XT should've been $500 at most.

AMD doesn't have better drivers, the 9070XT is just a better card. Nvidia's drivers aren't related to poorer gaming performance, they're related to bugs and instability (black screen crashes primarily)
