It wasn't shutdown it was forcefully updated to ow2. There's a huge difference. You didn't lose any money There's plenty of games that have been for sale and went f2p. Tf2 csgo etc you paid for early acesss that lasted 8+ years.

too many people were getting free cosmetics via the earnable lootboxes, so they updated the game to Overwatch 2, removed the lootboxes (yay, so pro-consumer), added a battlepass, and made all cosmetics not free.

If a game is shut down you can't play it anymore, retard. If a game updates you can continue to play it. The game was sold as a live service and you the user understood when you bought it that they can make any changes buffs nerfs rebalances and alterations to the core gameplay at anytime. Not a single person bought the game because it had "free cosmetics" they bought it for the hero shooter gameplay loop all the bitching comes from people who don't play the game simple as.

I enjoy it. Most of the new heroes are good additions (minus the tanks that aren't Queen). 5v5 really isn't a massive change. You still need team coordination and mechanical ability to win for most heroes. Clash is a dumb map mode but whatever.

There's no limit. You paid for a live service game. If they turn the whole core gameplay into shooting HRT guns at indians shitting on a sidewalk and first team to transition loses, then it's still the same game you paid for.
