Now that sony is making a first party fight stick, i might actually move to stick since itll be the same quality as a dualshock but a stick instead.

I have a stick but it's old, though it has good parts it's a heavy gigantic piece of shit, wired
Maybe this will do, but I doubt this stick will be like a seimitsu stick with a light spring

i have been playing on a madcatz TE stick since 2009 and it is basically in the same shape as it was then.

all i had to do about 2 years ago was replacing the spring and gate, which cost like 10 bucks and 15 minutes of my time.
single best money per time purchase i've made

Don't see why you would only do it if it's first party, It's not like sony's shit is better than actual good companies in the arcade industry like sanwa.
That and stick is pretty obsolete at least for fighting games. Leverless is way more efficient and considerably cheaper.

someone who makes a thread like this likely has never heard of sanwa or is aware that there are many facets to the industry aside of the normiecore catalogue of consoles and moviegames

A Nacon Daija (V1). Because I don't have it customized at all, I'll just post a generic picture of it.
Don't get me wrong, it is ergonomic, but holy shit maybe I can give up a little bit of it. And the cable is pretty stiff. I could mod a different one in I guess. I could change the board, but then I'd lose some functionality.
I just use the Stock Sanwa buttons but an LS-62 instead of the stock Sanwa stick. I mostly used it with shmups, not fighting games. I thought of buying one of those small fightpads or whatever the fuck, but I honestly don't like the idea of playing any non fighting game that way. I find the stick to be pretty fun.

So far the dualsense is WAY more durable than the dualshock 4 atleast from my experience.
The worst and quickest drift ever for me was all Nintendo
The joycons and the pro controller terrible drift without much use.

I always liked how that looked but it's way too expensive here for some reason, so I ended up getting pic related on sale for like $70 or so.
It's kinda light and plastic-y but it's pretty big and feels confortable. I didn't like the factory hori parts so i swapped everything for sanwa.

Sticks from reputable brands were already high quality. If anything I bet this Sony stick will have drivers issues on PC.

Why would it? The dualsense is mostly supported on PC including its gimmicks. It's just some of them work only wired. This only has a touchpad, which steam should recognize right away.

my R2 broke (still usable, but the resistance thing just broke out of nowhere), the plastic wore off on the edge of one stick head and the right stick has an issue where if you barely move it to the right, it reads as if you tilted the stick halfway to the left

I would probably recommend you get the 8bitdo fight-stick instead for Sanwa button compatibility and almost certainly a much cheaper price. Also the NES Advantage build design.

The Daija is a mixed bag quality wise. It's sturdy and heavy, but mine doesn't close properly anymore. It leaves a bit of a gap.
I'll be honest, I know the point of big and heavy for fightsticks, and not getting that shit to slide around and whatever. But to me it's just not comfortable to have this thing on my lap just to play some random STG

if you don't care that much about quality and just want something cheap, the mayflash ones are pretty cheap and can be customised for better parts later on.
Those work with literally every console.

You either never used a Madcatz controller or never used an 8bitdo controller made within the past five years, one of the two. Pro 2 in particular became my daily driver over a Dualshock 4.

I've been looking at those, but I don't see any L3/R3 button, and I'd rather not have to switch controllers for one button while I'm playing Persona or something.

It's a janky workaround but you can set the P1/P2 buttons to L3 and R3 in software and it'll retain those settings.

madcatz arcade sticks are or were actually really good

they were the tournament standart in SFIV and MvC3 for years
