The people making the game need money to survive(food, bills, shelter), so they're porting Ready Or Not to consoles, which will make them money to keep surviving. Unfortunately, Sony and Microsoft have stricter rules than Steam about nudity, gore, etcetera, so the developer has to abide by those. The reason the PC version is being censored is because of crossplay in multiplayer(both console and PC players need the same content in their games).

There's a handful of missions where you learn about trafficked, abused, raped, kids.
One is a furry streamer with CP, nothing crazy and you don't see anything
One is a birthday party or a quinceanera where the dad is a child trafficker who makes cp on the side
The worst one for me is you raid a run down child talent agency where many of the kids have been abused, again you don't see this, but you cruise through a rundown sunny funny kid office with drug paraphernalia and sexual toys while the walls are littered in children's headshots. For me it's this map, I can't fucking see shit with how absurdly bright the sun is with its excessive volumetric lightning and horrible anti-aliasing making everything looks like a blurry mess. Bought the game a few months ago, enjoyed it, and honestly I probably wouldn't care too much about these changes, but the fact they're doing it to squeeze into the console market and then tried to completely handwave away any and all complaints from fans with an blatant "This is already done, no changing it, so shut up" just made it so much worse
