sad if true. the vertical slice they showed looked like an immersive sim with parkour mechanics and i was down for that even if it had nothing to do with perfect dark.
The new Fable is going to be a shit show. The developer, whose only experience is making racing games, is going to be making a 3rd person medieval fantasy RPG?

But what if it's also a racing game?

most people on this site are old enough to know that perfect dark was an FPS for the N64 developed by rare, and many people here watched recent xbox press conferences and know that a reboot was in development. but failing both of those somehow, you aren't above googling it, nigga.

makes sense. but since i always try to do "anything i can think" in any game . not like the shit dev lying would have made a difference
its one of the reasons i dont believe in devs anymore
other being crapcum

How fucking hard is it to be make a simple corridor shooter with memorable levels, fun gameplay and a decent soundtrack? They use to pump games out every 1-2 years. Now they'll get 5 years to pump something out and it'll get cancelled 3 years in. WHAT THE FUCK? Literally just make something like Perfect Dark with modern graphics and controls. NOT THAT HARD.

Imagine if Fable removed fast travel, instead you visited a shop, rented a Lamborghini, then drove it like an ATV across the medieval landscape
>>714286226
Yeah true but the aging thing in Fable was pretty cool. You don't see a lot of games do that anymore. Hell you don't see any games do that except maybe The Sims. Or if you fight a lot your character gets scars.

Oh, come on, you crotchety old man. Fable oozes soul with its charming visuals and and music. Yes, it's a game for 8 to 12 year olds, and that's probably when a lot of people played it. What's wrong with that?
>>714286981
Why can't they just use a small studio to keep costs low? The original Perfect Dark had something like 20 developers working on it. You don't need to mocap everything, you don't need professional writers or a dozen VA, just use UE4 (fuck UE5) or Frostbite and make a fun and small corridor shooter.
>>714287076
maybe thats the problem, i was 18 when it released >whats wrong with that
all the lies the shit dev said before the game released
and being clunky. its the only game i consider clunky for the ""lag" when you start moving or stop

You should have bought a Nintendo Switch, lots of fun small games, like idk, DreadOut. But even that's dead with Switch 2. Everything must be graphics and arguments about numbers of frames
People don't understand that after the 360 released most of the people that created and managed the brand left, and that since then it has been nothing but a dump ground for Microsoft to push connected people they need to give a job to but don't actually want to fuck up their IT departments (which are also now completely fucked due to pajeets).

True. I grew up in an era where the only functions a publisher did was fund, market, and distribute games, so I naturally assumed the new Fable's publisher would do the same.
>>714287504 >i was 18 when it released
I recently played the game for the first time and I'm 33. For me it was fucking comfy, peak 2000s astethics (with reshade to fix the remaster garbage), fun gameplay and amazing music.
I had more fun with that than with any other AAA slop that released within the last few years.
>>714289274
They pour millions into these things now, of course they're always on the developers ass so it can be as sanitized and safe as possible to "sell".
DEI shit just means more grants to fund it.
>>714285373 (OP)
It's financially responsible to cancel woke games. Naughtydog would still have their reputation today if they had canceled tlou2. Don't let the same thing happen to you!
>>714287058
you can't mod for shit, and they wouldn't have made a mod for a shitty game
they could've released a better looking character, but they would rather scrap a whole project than giving you something appealing
they deserve zero money.

I hope it is, but I still need to see an actual source. Be honest. Did anyone seriously care about Fable? Every single time Phil and Xbox tried to hype up Fable like it's one of their marquee franchises that can rival The Last of Us or anything of the sort made no sense to me. Even on the original Xbox I didn't think Fable was anything incredible.
