These are some of the absolutely most played Nintendo games of all time. And also titles that Nintendo must have surely done specific playtesting on.

I won't say the Switch2 has no heat related issues. I don't have enough knowledge to say either or on the topic.
But I will say that I highly doubt that the Switch2 worse than the Switch1 when it comes to overheating, let alone significantly worse.

To me it just kind of sounds like some people in the regions currently suffering from extreme heat-waves have been trying to play their Switches in the heat. Which just about any system would struggle to do.

I currently own the Switch 2, and the sole times I hear the fan spinning like crazy temporarily is when I remove the console from the dock. Otherwise it's silent and not running hot in gaming uses (which I wouldn't say the same about the Deck when I had it)

I just sold my launch Switch for $160 with some accessories and stuff. Bought it day 1, played tons of games docked/undocked. What I did have to do eventually was open it and replace the cooling fan but that is so easy, just disconnecting ribbon cables and unscrewing things.

The first one overheated and got coil whine when playing demanding games too. I always felt like my switch would melt and die if I play totlk for more than 3 hours

Happy to say that so far i havent had any overheating issues from my Switch 2 with Mario Kart World. I didnt buy my switch 2 to play AAA slop i can get on pc so i dont know anything about cyberslop overheating the system. i havent used ky switch 2 outside of docked mode so if i were going to have overheating issues i think i would have by now. My joycons havent started drifting yet either. and the intermission courses have actually turned out to be as good as the regular courses on average, woth some of them being in my top 5 courses overall. I'm just making this post cause i've seen a lot of claims and hate floating around that actually set my expectations really low for the Switch 2 amd MKW and i was really pleasantly suprised when everything was great (so far).

If you really want me to come up with some negatives about the Switch 2 i could say the joycons dont feel good as mice. And the water stages in Mario Kart World are the real true stinkers and i think in a few years when people have gotten used to the idea of the intermission courses you'll start to see a lot more of the criticisms about MKW focusing on the water courses and maybe the lack of a lot of great battle maps if we dont get any dlc. oh also the system migration thing was a pain and apparently didnt transfer my smash ult save data at all. i've heard other people have problems with it so beware, just use a memory card to move the stuff over and dont waste your time with system migration

My day one switch started overheating a couple years ago and I've had run a fan against it to keep it from shutting down.
The switch 2 I got last week also seems to run pretty hot while playing worlds docked.

It's honestly more a report of the faulty hardware units out in the wild. I don't think these people are lying, but it's almost definitely an issue with their specific consoles. The Switch 2 isn't "cool" during play but I've never felt it be anything but toasty in the hands, and I've never heard the fans spin in handheld.
I've never had a docked crash ever, much less have the switch 2 get so hot that I can't even pick it up from the dock.
