Just finished expedition 33 and want a couple confirmations on the plot:
Why did Alicia take such a passive role in kicking her parents out of the canvas before act 3? Couldn't she have basically taken Maelle's role at any time?

You can't re fight the final boss BUT you can load your save from before you made the choice and get the other ending. I don't recommend NG+. Just beat the final boss, do all the act 3 sidequests/optional content and call it a day.
