garrys mod is a Source Engine sandbox game, its kinda like roblox where you can make your own game or basically spawn into the equivalent of minecraft creative mode and dick around with your friends
I personally just like to find maps on the workshop that are cool or atmospheric and explore around them or look at maps from source games I like and go into my own level/game design machinations

I dont like metal gear games in general, although i havent played MGS5, its open world too, so id probably hate.
Dont like multiplayer games so TF2 is a no.
I actually did like Pikmin for the bit i played it, but just suddenly stopped playing it for some reason.
Hotline Miami is good but on my 3rd playthrough felt like something was missing.
RE4 Remake rejects the most interesting and horde enhancing aspect of the original.
Fallout New Vegas is a shitty meaningless dialogue simulator and that is quite literally all.
Dont care much about the rest of your games sorry.

cope and seethe, nu-Gowโ€™s combat is crunchy as hell and the boss fights in Ragnarok mog most action games out right now. yeah the pacing drags with sad dad drama but itโ€™s still a solid mix of big myth spectacle and tight gameplay. not everyone wants to be fed nothing but FromSoft clones 24/7.

Recently decided to replace Bravely Default with Expedition 33. Fantastic game, easily in my top 10.
I still admire BD, it has my favourite combat system in any JRPG, but the recent threads made me reconsider it structurally, how its story holds it back from being great.

at this point mostly concern, I'm afraid its gonna be a Doom ripoff and Unreal 5 has me worried about performance and bugginess BUT i think its still too soon to be anything more than speculation, we'll have to see how things pan out.

Do you like programming? All Zachtronics games are programming puzzles in disguise, they involve the exact same thought process of trying to solve a challenge. Some of them don't even try to hide it, like Exapunks. TIS-100 and Shenzhen I/O are just straight up Assembly.
I love all of them, Spacechem just happens to be my favourite because it was my first one.

Opus Magnum is the most accessible, Infinifactory is the most different due to its 3D nature.

pretty based taste. hollow knight pokemon and ror specifically are pure kino. i need to try metal slug it looks fun as fuck. i bought the original on steam but all the comments say the controller support lags by like, a whole second until your input comes out, so i might need to use 3rd party controller support which i hate doing.

thats fair, I personally couldn't get into the second game. I really didn't like how the weapons lacked all the moves present in the first game (the upward slash being only for the daggers was my big issue iirc) and the bosses felt too annoying to fight
That last point might just be a me problem though, I don't care for difficult bosses in games as weird as that is, but once I got the "Salt guy" boss (in that drained ocean area) that's where I gave up
Think the game would honestly be fine for me if the daggers and the big flail were balanced on the extreme end with the Ruego just acting like the Mea Culpa from 1
>>714302643

BS1 uses its edgy slop facade to pull the rug on you in one of the most inventive endings I've seen in vidya. And BS2 continues where it left off with:
>much better, unique combat system
>way better atmosphere, it goes full horror in places
>heavily nonlinear, its level design gave me that Dark Souls 1/Bloodborne/Hollow Knight vibes with how interconnected everything is
And with some genuinely great writing.

This is such a great 3x3... apart from Blue Prince, I just can't wrap my head around how anyone can enjoy it. Rolling a dice to see whether you even get to ATTEMPT to solve a puzzle is such awful game design. And even the RNG-mitigating items like the wrench are hidden behind RNG.

Thief is amazing, one of my favorite series. For your first experience I recommend buying Thief Gold, installing a patch called Gold2Dark to revert the game back to The Dark Project, and then installing Tfix Lite and EAX sound fix. That might sound like a lot but it will take less than 10 minutes.

Youโ€™re thinking about Blue Prince the wrong way. If you lock in on one specific thing and insist on doing nothing else, it will be frustrating, but thatโ€™s not what youโ€™re supposed to do. For at least your first 30-40 hours, there should be few if any runs where you donโ€™t learn or do something significant. And by the time you do have fewer goals to work towards, youโ€™ll have very powerful ways of manipulating RNG. I only ever got frustrated in the very, very late game, and it was very minor in the grand scheme of things.
