Well deserved. DS2 is truly amazing and easily one of the best games I've ever played.
>>714327410 (OP)The rating was 4.93 yesterday. It just keeps on going up. ^^
>>714329191Kek but true. They really hate this game. :))

iTS GOING TO TAKE GOTY AWAY FROM CLAIR OBSCUR
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOO
I want to discuss the game so badly but it's such an amazing experience to play blind, it's kojimas best game since mgs3. 40 hours in and I'm fucking addicted to being a glorified Amazon guy
>>714327410 (OP)I think this might be the best vidya cover of all time.
The contrast between young and old, helpless and powerful, innocent and hardened is just very strong. It also triggers protective instincts and the pro-life messaging is also undeniable.
>such a fantastic game it can't even reach 500 posts per thread
Ok kojima drones. Sure, maybe next time.
>>714332361I've been dawdling and fucking around a lot so I'm only 40 hours in and I still feel like there's a ton of game left to go. I only started getting the goofy items to play with like the Dog Mines and the Pokeball.
Anybody kind of dislike the game in the same way as tpp? I loved 1 but 2 just feels like wasted potential on so many areas.
>>714332751Did you beat it / how far in are you? DS2 feels like DS1 again... it starts expanding a lot on it after a point. That said I do wish that a few things got more significant upgrades. Vehicles feel better, but they still have a strange 'digital' feeling to them, as opposed to a more physicy 'analog' feeling like Mudrunner.
>>714327410 (OP)Iโve never played these. What are they like? I want to give them a try
>>714332751Problem is since this is a Kojima game people had their expectations astronomically high but they need to understand the man is getting old, he has been making games for almost 40 years now which is just insane, everyone expected a protag switch when DS would be the last of his games for that to make sense since Sam is a repatriate, also the game takes place ONLY 11 months after the first game so of course not much changed, he can also not do a massive time jump because of the actors scanning, they need to look like their real life models
>>714333383Metal Gear Solid V without prone and you drive between POIs to deliver packages. Sometimes there's a river and you build a bridge across it.

When its gay, its fucking gay. When its ludo, its fuckin LUDO.
>>714333487youre leaving out the part where you get hecking LIKES for putting the bridge down
>>714333293I've beaten it and have around 80 hours in it already. Just feels like so many thing staat we're showed just don't impact gameplay at all. Also they made it even easier than the first game.
>>714333437>People had their expectations astronomically highYeah that was the case for me, genuinely expected game of the century.
>>714333538But yours will never get as many as those seemingly randomly placed bridges that doesn't actually go over anything that inexplicably have 40000 likes.
>>714333714likes are exponential, they aren't literally 40,000. That's like 10 people. smash the mf like button and see how it gradually increases tenfold
>>714332505You would just divorce and abandon the wife for the next younger piece of strange and the kid will hunt you down.
>>714333530This game is such a goddamn unique experience, you NEED to play it yourself to understand it, watching a stream or a let's play won't give you that experience, that's why so many retards in the comments complain about just walking
>>714328757As La Creatividad intended
I started with All Shared items enabled because I used to like seeing buildings from other players in my game in DS1 but in DS2 it just feels like there's way too much stuff. There's a generator every 20 feet so you don't have to plan anything. I turned it to Only Some and it's much better but all of the areas I went through earlier still have all of the shared buildings. Is there a way to clear out those areas that I'm missing (aside from manually driving around deleting stuff)?
>>714333685like I said if you make a sequel with the same scanned actors it has to be very samey, that's why I'm so excited now for OD and Physint cause now Kojima has a lot more freedom now with brand new actors
>>714333836To be fair, the game absolutely has issues. Both games have MASSIVE power creep around 2/3rds through the game, and the animation physics do not align with the actual physics even remotely. It so close to being an objective fucking 10/10 if they just cut out the actor bullshit and focused purely on gameplay, but its so close to being perfect, I love its ideas.
>>714328354there actually aren't enough cutscenes
The walking simulator got a sequel?
>>714333791The game can give another player 100+ likes if you, for example, cross a bridge. You can also give additional likes if you wish by mashing the touch pad.
One of my bridges already has over 50K likes. I has obviously not been used 50K times though.
>>714334082>THE FUCKING CLOWN FROM IT IS PLAYING SOME KIND OF DETECTIVE IN OD OR PHYSINT???hoooly, already ultra kino confirmed, dude is a FANTASTIC actor
>>714334321DS2 made me realize Kojima really cannot pace an open world story, and this is his 3rd try. MGSV has this exact same issue. 10/10 aesthetic but the last game got so much backlash that he won't include too long of cutscenes. DS1 dumps 1000 emails on you instead of interesting dialogue/cutscenes. DS2 gets a perfect mix of MGS/DS aesthetic then has a severe lack of meaningful cutscenes. It makes no fucking sense.
>>714334082Well to be honest most of my problems are with how easy the game is. I was really hoping on moving BT and mule areas, and the weather nature disasters or whatever don't impact gameplay all. Things like that are just bad on a design part that doesnt have anything to do with actors. also fuck fragile dying probably the stupidest gayest thing Kojima has ever done. she was so cute for ducks sake.
>>714334082OD is a small side project that probably only exists to funnel money from Microsoft. Udo Kier is in it, which is great, but this troon is also part of the project, so I am ignoring the game.
Physint is the next big project.
>>714334432Yep, he's definitely in his next game
>>714334590What are you going on about? Pacing is extremely good. Kojima also gives the player the freedom to either derp around or continue with the main story.
>>714334590This is why I hope Physint isn't open world, he has fantastic ideas and is a real genius but an open world game is too big. I hope his next game to be as long as let's say TLOU2 about 20-25 hours with lots and lots of cutscenes, give me back those old MGS2 times
>>714332361Only 10 hours in, but itโs damn good. Every character is more likable than in the original, graphics are amazing, music too. My only complaint is how open and vehicle friendly it is. I hated being funneled right into BTโs, but also had the most fun taking treacherous routes to avoid them. I guess it makes it more chill.
>>714327410 (OP)I am enjoying my time with it. I skipped out on the first because it looked gay but I took the dive with this one and I gotta say Iโm having a blast.
>>714334871I honestly don't care about the story much so Its fine lol, I'm just sayin in general for others
>>714334826The game came out a week ago, putting spoiler text is not that much of an effort. The game actively discourages you from playing it all day and rushing through the story. This is not some MGSV tier era where you had to exit /v/ for a month to not get spoiled. Its fun to discuss the game. its basic etiquitte, as faggy as that sounds.
>>714335061The fucking problem is working with all those big hollywood names, you barely can reshoot stuff after they're done shooting if you want to add some things to a scene or whatever, I bet there were times Kojima wanted to add more lines for Sam but Reedus was busy riding 7 days straight on his motorbike lol.... it's not easy to work with these people
>>714333383Imagine the whole world is undeveloped wilderness, with high tech underground facilities every so often. You play as a delivery guy who moves things from one to another, with a big array of tools available. The story is about a supernatural apocalypse scenario that gets pretty wacky at times
>>714335343if you were having a blast then you would be a terrorist. Do not "blast", even if at home.
>>714335343DS1 is a much more simplistic experience for better and worse. I didn't spend much time with the DX compared to the PS4 release but a LOT of the allure for DS1 was the initial mystery, which kind of fell flat after a while.
>>714335373bad meme, it was italian snake who got cucked to death
>>714335643Maybe DS1 was more atmospheric. DS2 has a lot of variety in landscape, music, tone so i find it less focused. The two games aren't completly the same and can work being played back to back with how DS2 begins by directly shoving deliveries on the player as if it was an uninterupted continuation of that gameplay.
>>714335619blastin makes me feel good
I like it so far, how did Fragile get a smooth body again? Is it explained in the later part of the game?
Snoys are working overtime trying to shill this game lmao
>>714341609No, it never comes up. Kojima just forgot about it after the first game. No plot, he just does whatever comes into his head.
>>714335286there's plenty of terrain unfavorable for vehicles not to mention the fucking mountain
I'll be honest, I used to be a hater of death stranding but I'm actually really enjoying on the beach. I don't think Kojima is a genius, but he is creative enough and these games are honestly kind of a breath of fresh air in some ways, they're pretty addictive even if they're simplistic and rather easy even on the hardest difficulty. Just doing the deliveries is quite relaxing and fun even just the standard orders.
>>714334067you can delete from the map
>>714329191Meanwhile, E33 has the same score with 4x the amount of reviews.
>>714327410 (OP)Kojima really picked the most boring people imaginable for the preppers this time
>k-pop singers>nicholas refn's wife and both daughter>debra wilson Lame stuff
these games are the new mgs. he already said there will be a third one.
we all know physint will be delayed until he's too old to work.

>>714332157Based. Screw turn-cringe fags and their shitty games.
>And the GOTY award goes to...
>>714342265Just watched a 20 minute cutscene, the game does explain it. Kojima never misses
>>714332524I'm enjoying it. It's just more of the same though, somehow denser while also feeling emptier at its core, like SoTE off of Elden Ring. There's nothing here worth talking about at length. But if you liked the first one it's fun enough.
>>714345981> 20 minute cutsceneI swear this game belongs on /tv/
>>714345184Obviously Expedition 33. I know people were hoping DS2 would dethrone it somehow but I'm 15 hours in and it isn't happening. The only other contender this year Ghost of Yotei.
>Music>Art direction Even these potential pity awards for DS2 are obviously more befitting E33. E33 is going to do to it what Zelda and Elden Ring did to Horizon.
>>714345184As someone who likes this game quite a lot, it'll be E33. Ds2 is fun and well made but it's still weird as fuck and very much narrowly targeted towards people who liked DS1. E33 was a much more broadly appealing game and shook up the industry much more from how out of left field its success was. It was also quite a well made game.
Death Stranding was not made to be loved by everyone and that is exactly why those of us who love it live it so much. Nothing wrong with that.
>>714345184>GOTY >SO IMPORTANT>GOTY GOTY>None of the judges play gamesPathetic. E33 will win because the judges don't play games.
>>714346649>turn slop>broadly appealingMaybe for pokemon children.
>>714345184Obviously DS2. The only game that could dethrone DS2 is Ghost of WokeDEI. Journos are going to love it, because it is a woke dyke simulator.
>>714343092E33 has a lower and has been out for months. Stay with the facts turn-cringe loser.
>>714347585>>714347729Why did E33 break people like this so hard. I don't get it.

>>714327410 (OP)I wish Kojima won an Oscar
>>714346452>Ghost of YoteiWhat does it do better than DS2? Its going to be a standard ubisoft open world
>>714327410 (OP)talk about a pointless sequel
it's literally the same fucking game but even more streamlined
>>714350049Won't know what it does well or poorly until later this month. I'm just saying it's another high profile Sony game coming out this year.
>>714334067This is an option? What's the default because I've been using that. And WHERE at?
i pirated death stranding and played some today
seems kinda boring so far
do you ever get to do anything cool in it?
>>714348201Why did every real-time game in existence break you turn trannies so hard?
>>714351385The point of the game is not being cool
>>714332524I'm not buying a ps5.
I'll play it when its on pc though.
The only thing I really disliked about the first was Amelie. The one person Sam actually should feel a connection to just felt so underdone and empty. I think the structure of the first also fit better, where you're isolated and alone most of the time and occasionally you run into a weirdo character you help out and learn about and go on your way, maybe to run into them again 10 hours later. I'm on chapter 8 of DS2 and the structure kind of breaks down when you have a ship and crew following you around every step of the way. They rarely do anything and there's basically no justification for when they come on board. In MGS the friendly cast are all specialists who exist to assist you with a specific mission. Meanwhile in this you pick up a pregnant woman who constantly makes it rain before you even know the next area is going to have the one wildfire in at least the first 30 hours so far. The first 20 hours feels like an empty retread of the first game, but worse in a lot of ways because the context that made things in the first work isn't here.
It's getting better now that things are actually starting to come together, and the last half will probably make me forget about how the first half mostly felt like a sloppy sequel, but for now it's mostly just made me appreciate how well designed the first game was.
When I have money I swear I'll play these games.
>>714354602DS1 is on sale on Steam for only 15 bucks, bro.
>>714348201The better question is why E33 is getting so much praised while being so creatively bankrupts
> Self-admittedly a game that replicates old school JRPG's > Literal Reddit writer> Soundcloud composer and songs with repetive motifs> Mario RPG mechanics being shouted as innovativeI understand that you can be seduced/enchanted by the story twists or the characters of E33 but as a game I really can't understand why specifically THIS game is being touted as GOTY.

>>714358673>13k reviews means it sold less than 400k copies.make that make sense why is it 400k?
>>714358673The cope begins.
By the way, it is almost 14K now.
I just started and so far the music is worse and not fitting at all. I dont think the music in 1 was great either, but the first walk up to the gate to australia had some music so bad and ill fitting it genujnely felt like it was glitching out or youtube was running or something. It was the most out of place song I think ive ever experienced in any game or movie
>>7143592711 had no OST as you walked around just randomg 3rd party tracks that randomly played at different points 2 does though
>>714332529If you got the ball you are unironically almost done. I was like you once. I thought there was a lot of game left. DS1 was a longer game.
