Yep, BC2 is the only good BF game because it's the only one that did away with the worst parts of the BF formula.
All they have to do is cut out planes (choppers are fine) and almost everything else falls into place naturally. Map design won't have to be crippled with huge expanses of nothing to accommodate planes, which in turn won't result in snipers having massive sightlines, and everyone was made to be more active so accuracy was on-point even while moving. Also giving the grenade launcher to the ammo guy while the medic had the LMG was unironically the best and most balanced class concept they ever came up with.
Coincidentally, DICE's Battlefront 2 also shaped up to be really good, as it too largely lacks the core BF problems by making the infantry and starship environments largely separate, meaning ground map designs weren't fucked, while also having the shooting be accurate while on the move.
