>>714341295 (OP)Microsoft has had every advantage known to man. They had incredibly talented devs. EVERY generation outside of the OG Xbox, they made a stupid business decision that knee-capped them and they spent all of their time fixing before the next generation. They have IPs that sold and reviewed well that they're just sitting on because they can't make them always online and over-monetized. SONY at least pretends to care about their legacy franchises with references in their new games, but Microsoft/Xbox couldn't be bothered.
Don't get me wrong. SONY has made unbelievably stupid decisions (especially as of late), but with Microsoft, it's like the Superbowl where the Falcons blew a 25 point lead to the Patriots because they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Forgetting legacy IPs, letting Rare turn to rust, claiming games like Hi-Fi Rush sold well only to shutter the studio, putting business heads in charge of video games who don't play or understand video games, the Kinect, Xbox One focusing on movies and TV instead of games, Xbox One needing to be always online, constantly buying up talent and companies only to realize that they don't know what to do with them, Gamepass turning to be just as much of a streaming service financial anchor as Disney+/HBOGO (or whatever they're calling themselves)/Paramount+, etc.
The console wars are over and everyone lost. Nintendo is charging an arm and a leg for their products including overcharging for physical media, I genuinely am baffled by what the Hell SONY is doing, and Xbox is the rich kid whose always bailed out by rich daddy Microsoft.
