After the shitshow that was KH3 is it possible for Square Enix to course-correct with KH4? What would be necessary to undo the damage of 3 in your eyes? Is this "once-beloved" series even realistically salvageable at this point?

They need to take the story seriously again. 3 was a hype destroyer. This doesn't mean no Disney-shenanigans, just a more competently written story with a focus on emotional resonance and climactic payoff. KH2 knocked this out of the park.

KH 1~3 were a single arc. That shit is over, so anything they create going forward is going to suck since the initially inspired & passionate team behind 1&2 are officially dead in the water now.
