I think it is bait, since deus ex has three times the amount of key bindings than a controller can fit
Out of the box it has binds assigned to the fucking numpad, which even back then was being slowly phased out of pc games

I played DOS2 on a controller, beat Honour mode, and it ended up being one of my favorite games of all time.

Outside of RTS and competitive arena FPS, pretty much everything works on controller just fine. Even those genres would work fine if the dev actually designed the game for controller or even put in a slight bit of effort to adjust the controls/UI for controller.

PS2 version has better animations, graphics, UI, improved level designs, actually remembers what you read and hacked, removed stupid shit like limb damage (walking around at a snail's pace as a cripple is sooo much fun!), and rebalanced aspects of the game to make them more challenging but fair.

It's an improvement in every way with the PS5 version since loading times and framerates are no longer an issue

Easily the best version, it's basically the GotY version.

I played Deus Ex on PC with a gamepad. There's even a radial menu. And the menus can be navigated with the mouse. No idea where this meme came from that Deus Ex has a billion key bindings.

>A = jump
>X = Reload
>Y = Change Ammo
>B = Use
>LB = Lean Left
>RB = Lean Right
>LT = Walk
>RT = Fire
>Left D Pad = Previous belt item
>Right D Pad = Next belt item
>Up D Pad = Scope zoom
>Down D Pad = Activate laser pointer
>Left Analogue = WASD
>Left Analogue Click = Crouch
>Right Analogue = Mouse look
>Right Analogue Click = Open augmentation radial menu
Start = Open inventory
Back = Open goal list
Literally plays like a native gamepad game

Criticism of the PS2 version is way overblown, it's not that much different and the load times are 1s per map on the PS5. I just platinumed this, the soul of the game is very much still intact. And the auto-aim makes the absolute trash aiming of the PC version no longer a problem
