I'll admit I started with Gen one. My two favorite pokemon are Arcanine and Alakazam. They are both the first pokemon I ever got to level 100.
But I still like some later designs, I mostly just dislike how many pokemon are straight up humans now.

Yes, Gen One had pokemon like Jynx and Mr. Mime, but Jynx was based off of a Japanese legend so it made more sense. Mr. Mime is just kind of a mime, yeah.

It just occurred to me - there's no official lore that humans and Pokémon can't breed, is there? I always assumed that was the case since Pokémon are supposed to be equivalent to animals and real-world logic and all that, but given the absolutely impressive genetic adapatability of Pokémon egg groups, there's really no reason humans couldn't produce offspring with at least some species of Pokémon.

I've always thought that Giovanni was the coolest character and I try to make something close to his team or things I think he would grab if he could when I play a game.
The designs have lost the plot lately but up until Gen 7 or so when I stopped paying much attention there was not a single ground or rock design I would call a dud. I love every single one of them.

Design-wise, I prefer the four-legged Pokemon because they feel like animals/pets.
Type-wise, electric or dark. They're unique in the pokemon designs they contain.
