What the fuck happened to consoles? I remember when buying a gaming console meant you were purchasing a specialized machine that was designed to give you maximized graphics at an affordable price point. Remember RISC processors? The Xbox and Xbox 360 were both impressive pieces of hardware for their eras. Nowadays consoles are just weak gaming PC's with an X, PS, or an N stamped on them. Is console gaming dead?

PC gaming is alive and well due to the existence of Steam. All games eventually get ported to PC with better graphics and framerates.

Consoles as a concept are dying, it's all about gaming anywhere and trans-media(yes they literally call it that) now. People don't want to buy a machine just to play video games. Which is why consoles are becoming more and more "PClike". What is currently happening to Xbox will happen to PlayStation and Nintendo too. Sony has started porting to PC and Nintendo is fighting a losing battle of whack-a-mole to fight emulators. People dont want walled garden gaming systems when they do everything else on their PC and phones. Consoles will get replaced with cloud streaming devices where normalfags will just stream the latest Call of Duty on their TV
