The problem with strong women in fiction is that it is a total trope. That's all it is. I actually used to like it when it was a rare novelty. Maybe even when the market became oversaturated too. But like any tired joke that gets told too many times, it is a horrendously overused trope, and I can only roll my eyes when I see over half the cast, half the heroes, and half of the fictional government/military is females.
Im probably a hypocrite, because i will still play tiddy games like Nier, but I also long for non-twink heroic men to make a comeback. A cute sidekick or ride-along character is fine. A supportive role. Where a woman should be.
