Depends on what you're looking for. If you care about competative PVP/raid autism and care about the like 2-3 rolls a month you're missing out on out of the 100+ you get then probably not but if you just want to enjoy the story, characters and events then you can have as much fun as you want, nothing stopping you. Events get archived after a 2nd rerun so you can see every bit of content the game has, limited banners get rerun constantly so you're never locked out of students(unless they're collabs for obvious reasons). BA is a pretty easy game to start and drop whenever you want.

Meaning, you didn't participate, you were fucked, lost tons of resources, etc. In BA, you also have endgame autism with leaderboards and shit. But if you manage to reach max level and have rolled for a bit, you can easily reach "second tier" rewards. With "first tier" being whale or long time player territory. However, the difference between "first tier" and "second tier" is like one guaranteed roll every ~2 years. It's pretty much trivial.

Aside from the main combat mode, main missions are actually framed as grid turn-based maps with gimmicks like teleporters, crumbling platforms and the like. Some of them are neat puzzles if you want to get all the achievements, which require to complete it in a certain amount of turns. The annoying part is that there's no rewind or anything like that so it's easy to fuck up by making a single misstep, so it's more about charting the whole path in advance. There's no randomness to it though, so if you're into that kind of stuff and you understand the mechanics, it can be enjoyable. A lot of people are apparently annoyed by that stuff though, so they've removed the strategy maps from event challenges and now allow you to outright skip it in the missions, but you still need to do it if you want the achievement rewards and optional boxes in hard missions.

With the pool only getting bigger and bigger it becomes harder to actually get new spooks. Playing since launch the spooks that annoy me the most are the old fes students. It's great for newer players, but over time it really sucks, because fes students are amazing enough to insta-UE50, so whenever they spook you on subsequent fes banners it's always a literal waste. I got what feels like 12-15 Mikas since her release, while only managing to get a single one on her initial banner. It's not a problem with limited banners because you never have to roll on them again, but you will always dump at least one spark into every single fes banner and now that they're releasing 2 at a time it's getting worse even faster.
