i just dont think theres a lot of room for unique gameplay patterns in this genre. in what direction can you even pull metroidvania to make something meaningfully different and fun

indie devs are using their talents to generate nostalgia bait for money. it's legitimately that simple. they don't care about the craft or the medium, they care about social media clout and (((greenbacks.)))
