Its so funny to me that when a game like E33 or KCD2 sells only 2-3 million copies people think its some gigantic success. Whereas Nintendo's d tier franchises easily sell more than that while on one fucking system. Nintendo is just a different fucking beast when it comes to software sales. So yes, DK will probably be one of the best selling games of the year behind mario kart and cod.

If it's got the Nintendo logo and even a whiff of nostalgia, yeah, it's gonna sell like hotcakes. Doesn’t matter if it's Donkey Kong juggling bananas for 15 hours-people will line up day one, preorder bonuses and all. Nintendo fans act like it's a moral obligation to buy the new thing.

It maybe won't. Nintendo fumbled. They should've had a new Zelda or Mario ready for the Switch 2 lunch. Instead we got Mario Kart, which all ready lost a lot of good will, and a DK game without Retro or Rare making it. This is seal the dead of Nintendo, for sure.

This, most people are tired of Mario Kart already and will buy DK in droves to justify their $500 purchase. That's why Metroid 4 doesn't even have a release date yet. They're going to drip feed games over the next year or two and tendies will be foaming at the mouth to buy them day 1.

By this logic Prime 4 could be coming out as early as August, but they refuse to announce it because they want everyone to buy DK first instead of saying "it's only 1 more month, I'll wait." If it were November or some shit they'd tell us now and lose nothing.

Exactly. I'm of the opinion that all 3 games were ready as launch titles but some jap in the board room realized people were more likely to buy them if they spaced out the releases since it's easier to stomach $70-80 every month vs dropping $750 in one shot on launch day.
>Seeing retards that think DK is a small time franchise
Never understood this sentiment. When DK was revived on the Wii, he sold 6.53 millions copies during the latter years of the console's life and Returns' overall sales figures are 10.47 million (will be 11+ million once ppl play Bananza). Even Tropical Freeze 6.14 million copies if you combine the Wii U and Switch's sales together. Even other platformers like Ratchet, Sonic, etc aren't touching those figures consistently. DK's a funny franchise where it can stay dormant for like decade then sell like hotcakes once there's a new mainline game out. Like are you surprised that a character who appears in Mario side games frequently is popular. Bananza is without a doubt going to do Odyssey numbers (29.28 million copies) by reaching to the 20+ million club by the end of the Switch 2's life cycle.
