I feel like "QRD?" doesn't work as well with ESA as it does with GDQ. With GDQ its a lot of trannies, trainwrecks, cringe kino, meme runs, gimmicks etc. So there's a lot more to talk about with a run and why it was so liked or disliked. With ESA with it being more run focused all you can really say is "It was rated high becaues it was good" or "It was rated low because it was good"

It feels like QRDers are expecting some amazing story from the run and it just doesn't work like that at ESA. All I can say about the high rated runs right now like say Hitman and Crash Team Racing is "It was good"

The 2024 ESA's aren't even my least favorite, it was Summer 2023. Threads had maximum GDQ tourists, it was just constant game shows on the streams, big Metako prescence that it got overbearing, Argick EVERYWHERE. I dunno I just didn't like Summer 2023's energy. Really felt like they were putting on a circus act over speedruns.
