How long till the schizo who wants everyone to think everyone criticizing Dawntrail is one person?

My favorite part is him yesterday defending getting only one single Chaotic Alliance Raid boss for 6+ months instead of getting fully complete alliance raids tuned up in difficulty which is what literally everyone expected when they said we'd be getting "hard mode alliance raids". He actually unironically defends getting LESS content. I suspect he's a paid Square Enix shill trying to shut down criticism that's been spreading against FFXIV since Dawntrail (as Yoshi P has been complaining about, like how he recently complained about "clickbait" youtubers spreading "negativity").

Someone explain to me the mental retardation that causes people to say "don't run tenacity as a tank".

Tenacity gives maybe a 1%-3% damage penalty (depending on investment) compared to "recommended" stats like determination. To compensate, it gives a TEN TO TWENTY FIVE PERCENT damage reduction, which is a number that dwarfs many active mitigations. It ALSO buffs healing you give yourself, so it's quadratic in cases where that matters.

The sheer amount of power and leeway the stat gives you is incredible even at extremely low levels of investment. I do not, can not, understand what drives people to stay away from it. It is the equivalent of dropping a GCD every three or four minutes in exchange for a permanent Rampart.

Because even in actual savage content Tanks are more than likely going to be the last to die. Any damage that needs to be mitigated can be handled by rampart itself, you aren't gonna need to save it for some else.
The only situation I can think of where it'd actually help would be M6S, and that is assuming you can stack enough to make two yans more survivable with less attention needed from the healers while not losing so much damage that you can't decently whittle down one of the Yans by yourself.
In any other form of content the tank is only dying if the tank does something horribly wrong or, occasionally, because a healer didn't heal when they should have.

The thing is, it also frees up targetable mit and AoE mit to be used on other players rather than needing it yourself.

Perhaps, but is that necessary if no one is fucking up? Like the end result to all of this is 'don't be bad lmao'.
You literally will not get min-max nerds to go for survivability unless you force them at metaphorical gun point.
Honestly I think you'd need to redesign how some parts of the game are interacted with to even achieve that much. Not to mention that signposting 'hey you need X tenacity to survive tanking this' isn't really easy to do and they'd be more likely to just slap that amount of base tenacity on your gear options to make sure you have it if they did go for that.

Unironically the best arc in Dawntrail so far. Sphene's VA carrying the entire patch while Wuk gets benched like he just missed a mechanics check. Honestly, I havenโ€™t seen a character get this savagely sidelined since Estinien got sent to Errand Boy duty in ShB. Sphene Nation RISES.

XIV would be such a great game if it was owned by a big studio instead of a small indie company...

In very brief, because the extra tankiness you get isn't enough to matter. People would rather tanks deal more muh dps.
Most content can be completed without healers, for fucks sake. Defensive stats in this game are a joke.
