having unlimited saves breaks the tension of the gameplay. it's supposed to be survival horror and you can't get either of those elements if you just cheat outcomes

I get it, you don't want to "waste" your time. however each failure should mean you improve. the difficulty of this game is the learning curve. your knowledge is what is being improved, not character levels

If you want ease go with Karin or Marcoh, Marcoh has very good combat abilities and can clear most early game enemies in 1-2 turns. Karin's talk-no-jutsu works on a surprising amount of enemies too.
If you want raw kino at the price of a harder character play as Olivia.

Playable Girl Modder here. I'm working on making a new intro with choices like the heroes. I was thinking it'd be something like

Devour or Mastery Over Insects or Neither

Choice 3:
Skeletal arm, loincloth, and ring of still-blood
or
Arm, leg, meatpie, moldy bread, rotten meat
or
A key, a cloth fragment, and ten coins
or
Dash if you picked "neither" on choice 2.

Sound balanced? Devour has been slightly improved because using it no longer destroys the items and equipment of a corpse. So you can eat whatever you want without worry.

Marcoh most likely, his fists are better than most melee weapons in the game, also like someone else said, since you're not Abella you can recruit her very early, even one party member increases your early game survival chances by a lot.

I would pick Tanaka if he had an extremely weak early game but scaled hard into late game, but he's not in.
I would pick August if he could parkour around the city, had craftable ammo for his bow, and could recruit moonless, but he's not in.
I would pick Pav if he could recruit Bremen soldiers, but he's not in.
I would probably not pick Caligura because I can't come up with something cool for him.
