PvPvEvE -game contains not only human players but enemies controlled by AI as well, all in the same playing field.

The huge game field will be somewhat influenced by the players inhabiting it, meaning if you build strongholds in there, they probably havent disappeared when you log out and log back in. UNLESS they have been destroyed by some other team or captured.

But there is a persistence of vision in game.

All the big BR games basically realized they could do it. Especially in Fortnite's case where they put all the most flashy/popular skins with the emotes on them. So in the pregame area they will walk over to wherever players are and emote. Thanks to the no build mechanics you could slide dash into them knocking them away and easily identify it was a bot when they slow walk back to the exact distance and do the same emote. This used to be the only case of fake bots until they started to putting them into the matches too. Walking advertisements are too good to pass up especially when the average Fortnite player is too shit to realize what a bot player even looks like. "Here's your free kill. Wow, that guy sure was bad right? You're so good keeping going!" Sure there had been cases, but because Epic Games did it in something as popular as their BR without disclosing it, it makes you realize at some point it would invade everything. Biggest other case in point, Marvel Rivals. If you lose two games of quick play it puts you in a match against bots. And while you can identify those bots, it has looked like they put "pretend real players" into the lower ranks of competitive. I wouldn't put it past them and I wonder just when that will start to happen on a bigger scale.
