The irony is all these robotic linkedin "thoughtpieces" can be done with AI, but the jobs that the people fired can do can't be. You could replace this retard with AI and it would be just as good.
I think the reason a lot of these types of guys genuinely believe AI can do anything is because they don't do anything, and see AI matching their "intelligence" and doing their own job just as well as them, and they think they're the smartest people in the world (just look at the money they make, after all) so OBVIOUSLY AI could replace ANY job.

100% AI and robots will replace welding in the future
>uuuh welding requires skill and human talent and uuuh is manly and uuuh
literally just an uncomfortable job that requires a learned pattern to melt metal correctly. The only reason we don't have robotics doing all welding right now is because they would be too big and clunky. Welding is 100% one of the jobs that will be done by robotic arms controlled entirely by AI in the future and humans welding shit will eventually be seen as antiquated as a switchboard operator

How do you know we're a long ways off?
Just a few years ago we thought art and creative jobs would be the one single job that AI would literally never be able to do because they're just machines, suddenly some smart motherfucker comes up with this shit and suddenly being an artist isn't a safe job anymore. This absolutely will happen to welding because it is an uncomfortable job with health hazards and how good you are as a welder is entirely decided by how good you are at avoiding human error. Once an AI that can 100% calculate the best kind of heat, speed and movement to use for the most structurally sound weld is able to apply that knowledge with AI to a physical machine that can perform that job with a 99.8% success rate human welders will go the way of the dodo

and before anyone says that's impossible, look at the technology surgeons are starting to use. They're starting to use machines that they control remotely with a camera feed, that follows their arm and hand movements with extreme precision.

Fuck yes an AI is going to be able to be the one controlling the feed eventually by analyzing information and doing extremely quick extremely accurate predictions based on knowledge and data. AI can already race drones against humans in an obstacle course it has never done before only using visual inputs and even against one of the best drone operators in the world that knows the course the AI is able to outcompete him.

This will happen with surgeons, this will happen with welders, this will happen to pretty much all manual labor handled by a corporation rather than a layman. The art jobs aren't being replaced because they are easier to replace than "hard manly jobs", they are being replaced because we happened to discover the way to do their job first. But AI absolutely will replace all uncomfortable hazardous jobs that people only do because they have great pay. You are not safe from AI.

And good riddance, work is barbaric savagery and mankind should tower above menial tasks and transhuman robotic gods of the universe. We should be star children, we should all be gods and the universe will bow before the power of our AI.

Until windows gets so bad we can't use it, MS will continue to be a billion dollar industry. If they muscled through Windows ME and Windows 8, very little can possibly stop them. They'll keep going until they replace every employee with AI (and it will still be better than Indians).

AI is literally a scam for tech companies to further take over society. Right now they don't create anything, and most certainly don't create media but transmit it for other companies.

AI is literally nothing without data-sets being fed into it, ie it's worthless OUTSIDE of massive copyright violations. It should be restricted to Public domain works, and needing a liscence.

Reinging in AI and tech companies is one of the most important things to do to hold off the cultural and political doom spiral we're currently in which is caused by tech companies.

Have a pulse and be willing to work hours most people won't. Lot of normies have families, social life, etc so aren't willing to work 7pm - 7am 6 days a week which means there isn't so much competition as you might think. Also it doesn't pay that much at least for me it didn't. I will say I got lucky and got the job through connection. Had office job we all got laid off, I became good friends with one of the security officer and he had friend who was expanding his own company and needed workers. But I doubt it's too hard to find similar things if you do research. There's small companies which you can probably email asking for jobs. And big companies like Atlas and stuff who just hire huge masses of people.

People are not being replaced by AI.
AI is being used as a diversion to the fact they need to cut costs and their business are in turmoil.
But saying you're actually replacing people with AI feeds the hype and increases the stock value instead of damaging it.
Look at xbox, are those studios that worked 7 years and habe nothing to show for are being replaced with gaming ai devs to finish the project? Fuck no, they shut it down to cut costs.

I do lean a bit towards this. I work in a big company as IT Administrator. I see that there are attempts of incorporating AI at every step, everything related to chatbots is nearly useless. Sure, there are things that are good like image recognition to automatize some work on production lines or looking for error in end product(this can replace some of the low wage workers) but so far, every chatbot is a failure. First of all, for it to be usable in real way you have to have it on prem(locally) because if you want to feed it information from inside company it can't spill outside, which is costly even for big company, for the effect that it will have(faster searching of company data). Another problem is that, for specialized work like mine, even online chats with massive databases are useless. I tried to use it in many ways, it sometimes gives me wrong answers about thing that are available in open web documentation, not to mention it doesn't tell you it doesn't know, it spew false bullshit which defeats the point, I have to double check via internet anyway.
The only ever use case that I found in my work is when I want to make some easy powershell/python macro, it is faster to fix AI retardiness in easy tools than to make them from ground up and that's it.
All the channels on YT think that AGI is coming are retards who drink propaganda, there is already lack of data for further learning of the AI, hence absolute dystopian peaople from OpenAI want to make "wearable" to gather data from real world. Imagine, none of your conversations really private.

they dont care about long term anymore, everything is about making as much money in the shortest timeframe possible. if the company goes bankrupt, too bad! all the shareholders sadly lose the 1% of their bank account they each invested into it and leave to do the same thing again elsewhere
nobody is held accountable, ever. its one big piramid scheme that is government funded

That tech came out the second the military opened up GPS for civilian use in the early 90's.
Now they're working on AI driven drones that automatically identify problem plants, and give those individual plants applications of fertilizer/pesticides/whatever. That way farmers aren't just hosing down the entire field with immense amounts of chemicals, saving money and preventing environmental damage from overapplication.

The only goal is to make the line goes up within the quarter/fiscal year, they don't give a fuck about longterm consequences. As soon as things go through the shittier, they'll be out of there with a huge exit bonus

I gave up on LinkedIn when they wanted me to feel sorry for HR people who literally reveal shit on their garbage hiring and review habits. It's telling that so many of them want you to kiss their boot to even give a minute of time to actually go over your resume or review a pay increase.

these retards discovered hammers and now CEO believe that everything is a nail, and that if you build a big enough hammer you won't need people to discern where to swing, they just build more and bigger hammers.

It's not just that, they think if they can slap AI "progress" and get a news report out it will get more idiots to buy stock for the company to give them a short as fuck boost to their value. Just think of how many people who bought into the Robotaxi "rollout" that's fucking falling flat on its face.

>think the reason a lot of these types of guys genuinely believe AI can do anything is because they don't do anything
It’s obviously this. Everyone talking about how AI will revolutionize vidya are idea guys making concepts of games, they’re not actually making games with AI. Most of their posts are prefaced with, β€œLook how neat this is now, imagine what it can do in the future” which translates to, β€œThis can’t actually replace people but imagine if it could”.

I trash any resumes that were clearly AI written. I will tolerate an inferior on paper candidate over a peanut brained AI goy because I know the AI goy is just going to halfass everything with AI and act like it's a productivity gain. So many of them aren't even fucking double checked for facts and have things like overlapping work history, contradictory statements and just obvious lies.
