because devs keep making paladin broken. people wanted a high charisma face character in bg3 so that left bard(lmao), sorc(you get one as a party member), and paladin(you can get one as a party member but it requires an evil playthrough) and paladin is the strongest melee in wow.

i usually prefer mage, but they're often poorly implemented

Survival has been a melee spec for longer than that but it will always be a meme spec. Plus the pally bubble is very casual friendly, the skill ceiling for paladin is so small.

I don't play WOW but in other games paladins usually have good damage, self heal capability and defensive buffs making them good at dps and tanking because nobody wants to play healer even though you could spec a paladin that way

If Paladin had titan's grip talent for 2H sword/mace + Shield combo like in Diablo 3 it would have at least 20% population

It's not paladins; it's blood elves and humans, the same shit with NE druids/hunters or human/orc warriors. In addition to that, Druids and Paladins can be healers, DPS, and tanks, and veteran players recommend new players play these classes.
