>>714490357 (OP)voice acting is great, but honestly to get take a position against AI voicing is really fucking dumb. You want to protect a tiny clique of unionized workers who mafia their way around the industry for what? Because you heard their voices before and its familiar?
Modders are the ones who will bring the AI voice overs to the mainstream, people are using them now, and soon enough they will come to expect full voice acted mods (quests and character interactions)
There are countless use cases for this that dont require me to rely on other peoples talents. A lot of you guys seem to think that people are required to rely on other people when pursuing projects they created.
For example, take one band musicians. Dudes who are so talented they go out of their way to play every instrument for their band, and tie it all together to create a song. Alot of these guys rely on synthesizers because its not feasible to master every instrument to fulfill your vision.
When it comes to games, yes if you have a studio and a treasure chest to pay out for a proper game release, you should try to get organic actors for your game because the presentation requires something polished. Voice AI will get to the level of the synthesizer soon enough and i encourage people to use AI voices for their projects as long as its not ripping off anyones real voice talent.
