EO Teams leader got pulled away to go ship P5 and P5R. Then SMT:V. Then Metaphor. I guess they did Raidou remake too? They've been busy but keep saying it's not dead.

That's something I hadn't considered. But could be reason for the delay. They did make a big deal of asking for feedback about the PC controls when the collection released.

Seafaring super fucking ludokino. I love it so fucking much.
Maybe I should unironically develop my own DRPG. Where Seafaring is kind of the default mode overworld, and then instead of simply finding boss battles and odd encounters, the Seafaring overworld is genuinely how you find the game's dungeons that have different dungeon floors each.

I know the fanbase jerks 3 to death but I still think 5 blows them all away in terms of quality. It has the best iteration of side quests and little DnD party moments that add flavor to the dungeon crawling, and while I'm not a fan of the whole race+class system it still has the most creative classes in the series.

I'm not 100% sure what you're asking since that aspect never bothered me, but maybe look into potato flowers in full bloom. Bit short but it does have both you and the enemy's actions fully animated. A bit low poly if that's an issue for you.

I'm of the same mindset. I avoided these games like the plague until I tried labyrinth of gallaria. It's honestly not that big a hurdle after the first hour.

I still wish there was a game where the dungeons had the detail of something like a resident evil game instead of copy paste tiles all over the place.

I tried DT2 a while ago after years of hearing anons praise it, and it was pretty mediocre. The starting skills are all really simple and boring, there was too much dialogue, and when I reached the boss in the forest area it had a spell which could oneshot any of my party members with no way for me to counter or defend against it, so I had no choice but to grind. I lost interest at that point.
Does it get better?
