>>714499319 (OP) when I was too sick to go to school as I was too sick to play vidya and was just laying on the sofa watching whatever my mom was watching and occasionally vomiting in a bag wishing for death
no but my mom was smart and reasonable enough to know that the reason kids don't go to school sick isn't because the occasional runny nose is keeping them from listening to some adult midwit talk about something he has a cursory understanding of. it's so they don't spread the disease to other people. so yeah, video games during sick days were allowed at my house.
My mom was like an angel from Nintendo heaven. I think she pretended to not let me play games one time when I was sick. By the time I was 12 I just told her I donโt want to go to school and she acquiesced. Because of that I actually READ final fantasy a bunch. Because of that I learned a lot about the Bible.
>>714499319 (OP) A few times, when I had my tonsillectomy, when I had ear tubes put in, and a broken arm. Any other time it was the usual "too sick for school, too sick for video games" deal.

>>714499820 if she thought being sick is no big deal then why did your mom care if you spread the sickness to other people?
>>714499319 (OP) No, my mom passed away before I started school.

>>714499820 man wish my mom was like that. she even made me go to school with a broken arm because i could "still listen and ask the teacher questions"
>>714499319 (OP) Typically when I stayed home from school I was truly ill, gaming wasn't really high on my to-do list. There were a few years in elementary where I'd get these absolutely terrible headaches and the best thing I could do to feel better was sit in a dark room. Bright lights and screens would almost make me nauseous from how badly it hurt my eyes and head. It randomly stopped though, thank goodness.
>>714501054 same. any day i was feeling well enough to even want to play vidya in the first place was not a day i'd spend at home.

>>714501327 i had those too as a kid. ended up in the ER bimonthly because of it. doctors said it was from all the stress (i was like 10 lmao). the worst part is nobody ever told me what it really was they just pumped me full of painkillers and sent me home.

>>714499319 (OP) no because when I was young tv was still common and playing games when you are actually ill is not much fun. Morning TV was absolutely horrible anyway, mainly talk shows and reruns.
>>714501721 it's because you suffered minor but permanent brain damage. all the migrains were the brain trying to heal itself and failing. the moment they stopped is when it stopped trying. there's no way to know for sure but you probably ended up losing like 10-15 IQ points as a result.

>>714502626 >She didn't trick him >knowingly fucks him >gets knotted & creampied >becomes preggers it was bound to happen at some point. she's naive for not thinking it through any other comics with a similar plot? I like the absurdity of these types of stories

>>714502678 To this day I tend to turn down the brightness on nearly all my devices in addition to enabling Dark mode, whenever a friend sees my phone for whatever reason they almost struggle to use it. It works for me though. Funny enough I don't have this issue with televisions, at least not as badly.

>>714499319 (OP) It actually did. Everyone in my family played games, which probably helped. It also helped that I never really got in trouble as a kid, either.

>>714499319 (OP) Yes. My mother let me skip school for days in elementary school. When I entered highschool I could sometimes skip for a week or two in a row. It was pretty sweet back then, but it definitely messed me up and made life harder than it needs to be.
>>714499820 same, I never faked being sick either so usually I couldn't even play games
