My mom was like an angel from Nintendo heaven. I think she pretended to not let me play games one time when I was sick. Typically when I stayed home from school I was truly ill, gaming wasn't really high on my to-do list. There were a few years in elementary where I'd get these absolutely terrible headaches and the best thing I could do to feel better was sit in a dark room. Bright lights and screens would almost make me nauseous from how badly it hurt my eyes and head. It randomly stopped though, thank goodness.

To this day I tend to turn down the brightness on nearly all my devices in addition to enabling Dark mode, whenever a friend sees my phone for whatever reason they almost struggle to use it. It works for me though. Funny enough I don't have this issue with televisions, at least not as badly.

Yes. My mother let me skip school for days in elementary school. When I entered highschool I could sometimes skip for a week or two in a row.
It was pretty sweet back then, but it definitely messed me up and made life harder than it needs to be.
