Fallout guns
When a video game IP is bought out, do the new owners have any obligation to maintain the same level of quality as previous entries?

Sure, but why are they in pre-wae safes and armouries? It it what the boy scouts do instead of pine car derby in Fallout 4?

Because before the great war, Bostonians began to make improvised weapons since the mayor took a power trip and declared martial law. Did you not play Fallout 4?

Bethesda design actually fits the 50s retrofuturism better.

>Bethesda's designs actually fit their retcon better
Maybe but they're still ugly and nonsensical and objectively worse.

Fallout was never only about 50s retro scifi tho

Well the pancor is a meme gun that's been in more video games than it has real guns manufactured
The p90 is too tacticool for how I think of fallout guns

Since Fallout 4 was going all-in on guns being modifiable, having as many guns became impractical and had less gameplay use.
In New Vegas, and to a lesser degree Fallout 3, you switched guns as you progressed through the game.
In Fallout 4 you upgrade the guns you have.

I prefer the New Vegas method, because more guns = more cool, but there was a method to Bethesda's madness there.

Weapon customization sucked ass, it was mostly just "do more damage" shit, ironically enough pipe weapons had the best customization since it actually changed how they acted, like turning a pistol into machine gun or a sniper rifle.

Since Fallout 4 abandoned the traditional RPG method of swapping to better armor and weapons into an upgrading/module-based model (which was the reinforce the scrap-collecting and settlement-building gameplay loop at the heart of Fallout 4's design) armor became very modular.
Which also meant it looked a lot worse.

Yeah I wish they just stuck to the standard action RPG form of game design.
I get it was all meant to reinforce the crafting and settlement building gameplay loop, but the sacrifices weren't worth it
