it is, simply because the original was 30fps and the remake (yes, it's actually a remake, in unity nonetheless runs at 60fps. If you don't mind the upgraded framerate then there's no much point in playing it.

They're both fine. The first one is basically exactly the same. There are some tiny differences but most players wouldn't notice what they are.

The second game is also basically a port except they specifically advertised that they also added new content to it ("Royal Reverie"). And the new content is really bad. It's just extremely low-effort and adds nothing at all to the game. So think of that what you will. If you just ignore that then it's basically the same game.

The biggest difference that players would notice is that the original was dubbed in English but Reroll is all Japanese voices. Other than that, it's just very minor changes like some levels time limits are different, etc. Also the physics are very slightly different but the only people who notice are the people who play for hundreds or thousands of hours like the speedrunners

the worst change is the katamari ball being visible when you roll up huge shit instead of being replaced by a ball of junk
it completely kills the illusion and it makes me really mad when remakes fuck up details that that original developers put a lot of care into
