It didn't make sense people thought he was an amazing prosecutor considering he was a famous defense attorney who was in a coma for years before losing to phoenix in every case.

Godot himself is well-written. What's dumb, however, is how other characters react to him. Phoenix and Maya are way too sympathetic to him.

in the sense that everything about him and his actions in the climactic case make almost zero sense when you stop to think about it for more than a few seconds then absolutely not

T&T in general felt so off. Phoenix having a 180 change in personality and inserting a particular part on his life where he decided to leave his dreams to be an art student was so out of place, forced even.

I would say that heยดs a bad prosecutor but a solid "rival" for AA standards. His main schtick is that he doesnยดt focus on the overall case or targets the defendant to get him a guilty verdict, but instead directly attacks Phoenix with the sole intention of just making him lose the case and make him feel like a failure, which is why he constantly puts pressure on him and always tries to shut down his arguments regardless of how weak his rebuttals usually are. Which is why Phoenix considers him dangerous pretty early in the game, since he wasnยดt expecting going against a guy with such erratic behaviour that apparently knows and hates him for some reason.

Lolno.
My will to finish T&T was completely killed by him, and I say that while AA is one of my top-10 favorite games. He's trying to be an Edgeworth without actually having a competent writer behind him. Edgeworth worked because, while a dick at first, he was competent and you could respect that; von Karma's voice was the law itself, and it felt "right" because of how characters reacted to him and how brutally efficient his dialogue is at cutting the argument in half before it even starts. Godot? I felt myself skipping past his dialogue because of how smarmy his is for no good reason, how he's "just there" without feeling like he really matters or fits thematically with what the game is going for, and his design is just... not my cup of coffee. Really pushes my sense of disbelief in a way I don't like.

Which is why you don't understand when he appears as a inexperienced prosecutor more focused on tearing down Wright, dropping hints and attacking key points mercilessly, why it's such a shift that his character is the one to ultimately get broken when you have evidence that he literally cannot see. Having the prosecutor be the actual victim of the trial, and not in a literal sense like Edgeworth, was definitely a welcome change of pace, and ended with the kino Mia/Phoenix double point to ultimately snap him out of his rage.

T&T as a whole was well written, even if there are some dumb flaws like the flinging body with the bridge in case 5 not really making sense.
It has a sense of maturity and personal stakes that the rest of the series lacked after T&T.

he's probably my favorite prosecutor (that lasts more than a singular case) in general
he's not cocky, like the karma trio, he lets ryutaro voice his opinions before either finding him somewhat agreeable or downright moronic for grasping at straws. there are hardly any moments in both of his games where he purposefully sets ryutaro up for a downfall to save his own ass
i liked defending his case a lot more than defending edgeworth, zieks gets one and a half whole games to get to understand where he's coming from, how he accepts how others perceive him out of shame, etc.

Let us start from the beginning
>works at law office, hot new intern joins
>falls in love with intern
>intern gets an insane first case, helps her on it
>crazy bitch Dahlia saga begins, defendant dies
>GF is scarred and he has to do something
>lets Dahlia feed him poison because he's retarded
>now in coma
>while in coma, Dahlia murders some more
>Mia gets whacked by some info dealing faggot
>Mia's intern gets infofag convicted
>takes care of her little sister and cousin
Now we flash forward
>retard wakes up from coma
>learns waifu is dead
>instead of blaming the schizo that did it, blames the guy carrying on her legacy
>treats him like an asshole for months in court
>finally the KEIKAKU begins in 3-5
>instead of actually telling anybody important about the plan Morgan had, Godot proceeds to:
>kill his dead girlfriend's long lost mom
>endanger Pearl
>blame the murder he committed on his waifu's sister
>almost get Phoenix killed trying to save her
>when Maya is innocent, he blames Phoenix's girlfriend instead
>Phoenix figures the bullshit out and gets him to admit he did it all
>Godot is still an asshole and is now in jail forever and never referenced again
He has a sick theme song though, one of my favorites.
