Thats not what overrated means. Overrated would be putting her above other characters in the cast with popularity polls and stuff. Which doesn't happen unless you go solely off furry porn websites. Fox and falco are still more popular than her, only slippy is the only og cast member that she might be more popular then.

To be fair the other thing people really should consider is that the one dude in charge of Star Fox's lore/characters (and was also responsible for Krystal even being in SFA when Rare was originally going to nix her in the transition from DP) more or less wanted to end Fox's story with Command, letting the players decide the ultimate outcome with the multiple endings shit and only really leaving the door open for prequels and interquels set in the past. Ironically it would have been better for Zero to just be that, either a direct prequel to SF64 or a sequel set after but I guess Miyamoto doesn't want Star Fox to have much story.

That's funny because that's basically what Metroid Dread is, a direct narrative follow up to a 20 year old GBA game that was made before most zoomies were even born.

I think the primary difference here is that it was the will of Sakamoto (one of the few senior producers at Nintendo who gives a shit about canon), the closest Star Fox ever had to that was again Imamura who 1. wanted to end the storyline with Command anyway and 2. recently left Nintendo a couple of years back.

Yeah, without him there I don't really trust them to do starfox justice. Prequels or stuff inbetween games could also work. Like something happening between adventures and assault, where peppy hasn't quite retired yet and krystal is working command while she trains between missions to eventually become a pilot.

"Krystal ruined Star Fox" is like saying "sonic was never good". The people who believe such absolutes usually aren't trying to have a good faith argument. Reality is much less black and white, and star fox could have good games, but Nintendo sees it more as a gimmick franchise than something serious.
