I'm still working on decompiling Whiplash. Getting pretty good at using Ida. I have a software rendering pipeline to SDL, sound and midi works, I've got keyboard input, and I'm into the main menu. Well there's two parts to the system. First they've got a series of tiles, stamps (basically heightmap and detail overlays to go onto the surface mesh) and defined statics for planets. All that shit's linked to some sort of data made in Houdini, which after the planet was sculpted is stored in basically a big file.

Alice is a fictional character and the main protagonist of Lewis Carroll's children's novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel, Through the Looking-Glass. A child in the mid-Victorian era, Alice unintentionally goes on an underground adventure after falling down a rabbit hole into Wonderland; in the sequel, she steps through a mirror into an alternative world.

I stopped working on my game. I live in Europe and the initiative basically would turn me into a slave, instead of a hobbyist.

Don't give up anon. You clearly have taste, which is more than can be said for most of the people who post here.
Good taste is like half the battle when it comes to making something people glance at for more than 4 seconds.

Get to drawing stick figures, and build up from there. Don't fall into the trap of the pixel art. You need to be permissible at normal art first.

Sounds like bad advice.
Nobody will get better from drawing stick figures.

As a solo dev,
Is it a good idea to start building the game immediately?
Or just speed through it and get a vertical slice/demo first, and see if the game is fun or not? And it will also help to figure out what kind of system will be required when building the game next.

If you have a core idea, build that first.
Then expand on it.
Always build a way to test every new feature for fun before moving onto the next feature.
You might notice that some mechanics actually make each other worse and have to decide between the two.

Howdy folks!
Not much to report at the moment, working on fixing potion logic in more detail, allowing stacks and changing the quickslot counter in real time along with unequipping the potions and removing the quickslot image.
Also fixed a weird bug I caused when cleaning up code with sword equips and unequip, forgot to plug the null value in the at all causing the sword to not unequip off the body but the function still worked.
Some small updates
>generated coins and will replace the chest and coijd animations with new ones to complete borrowed assets deletion
>generated new rocks and debris
