In a game where people can swim in lava and be brought back from the dead, why is one of the most powerful mages bound to a purple floating wheelchair?

He's so powerful he can see (You), OP. He chose to use a modern-looking wheelchair specifically to annoy you

it would be a lot cooler if its a mechanized wheelchair with long robotic arms shit and hidden machine guns and rocket launchers and can move uber fast using hot wheels and jet pack behind to allow the user to fly around

Honestly, where do you guys think Warcraft went wrong, and how and why? I don't remember old Warcraft being like this.

It makes sense that some wounds can't be healed by magic due to maybe time or severity.
If literally everything can just be undone by magic, then nobody would ever die, even from old age. Old age is essentially dying by old wounds as your body deteriorates and your cellular regeneration slows to a point it just can't keep up.

Went wrong right in the clip you posted, since women aren't supposed to be druids and men aren't supposed to be priests.
Went wrong forcing them into the Alliance instead of just using high elves.

The moment they decided to try an retrofit a massive overarching narrative into a game clearly meant to more localized smaller narratives. LK was solid, but no narrative should have ever been larger than that. Even Cata was too big for WoW to handle itself with, shit just spiraled after that. Literally power creep on the scale of Dragon Ball in terms of stakes and villains.

It's kind of wild how the Warcraft Tabletop RPG knew that too and had High Elves as one of the integral alliance races, but for some reason, they chose to include the Night Elf in World of Warcraft, and I think it has to do with High Elves being relatively rare since they are close to extinction since their magic sunder.

I think it's more just to be different from other MMO's at the time. To not be seen as just another Tolkein copy wannabe Everquest.
But it was pointless. Warcraft fans were already Warcraft fans and knew the difference, and the game's popularity would have panned out exactly the same as it did if they had gone with Helf over Nelf.
