These days I just play ps2 and arcade games. During that era devs thought they could just be themselves and attract normies naturally. Sometimes it worked like in dmc3 but sometimes it failed like god hand. But then in gen7 the devs saw slop like fallout, tlou, and god of war sell gazillions while being shitty games and then to keep the lights on they started copying

Like, it wasn't the developers idea to sell skill points for real money in the new Deus Ex.
