my guess is it's so that it doesn't have to render the outside when you're in the castle, on launch that caused a ton of performance issues because of how slow it was to load each room as you ran through the castle plus having to load outdoors as a lot of the areas of the castle are interconnected by exterior locations

Sad that the Switch 2 on release won't even be able to keep up with the 5 year old PS5. I guess buying a PS5 on release was worth it since it could last all the way through the Switch 2's lifetime.

I believe what they have done here is put opaque windows onto two corridors connecting buildings to avoid needing to load the entire outside when walking between them. Kinda sad for an open world game like this. Why the rest of the castle in the background is gone, I'm not sure if it's just an angle / position thing or if it's an actual draw distance issue. It would be truly wild if it was draw distance, because you would AT LEAST put a blocky ass low poly building there.
