Unless they started using super low quality shit that breaks on any sort of contact in the last few years, I doubt this can be anything but user error.

Behind the motherboard tray, on its side most likely. There are a bunch of cases with that layout. Kinda sucks though, since the case is extra fat. Less tall than usual, but honestly tall is easier to fit than fat a lot of the time.

because pc parts have become aesthetic minded and manufacturers lean into that
>customize your lights to match your room or case
>see your graphics card light up and observe your well routed cables
microcenter might have some but theyre just so ubiquitous now that you might just have to accept a glass or acrylic panel and just turn off the RBG with software
on the positive side this also means you can observe motherboard error codes without removing the panel and keep an eye on dust

That's a very unfortunate situation.

Personally I don't like these glass cases or the RGB crap. My case is a big black metal box. My PC goes on the floor under my desk, and it even has a disk drive on the front. It's not outdated or anything (I just built it last year and I went all-out), I just don't like these reddit-tier meme PC's that go on top of the desk.

Personally I prefer to decorate the top of my desk with toys and figures of characters from games I enjoy. I have some amiibo of Nintendo characters (the Pikmin ones are super cute), a figure of Dr Eggman (classic version, in his ship), some Yugioh figures like Dark Magician Girl, Toon Blue Eyes White Dragon, Toon Summoned Skull, and the Millennium Puzzle, Gabumon (Digimon), some Touhou Nendoroid's, a figure of Knuckles that holds my DualSense controller, and then some random stuff like a radio/cassette combo player (it's really cute), Rubik's cube (I'm down to 90 seconds!), old ipod mini that I modded, 3d printed Pot of Greed, etc.

You can't out cute stuff like that on your desk if you have your PC tower sitting there. Also it would make the desk area become really crowded and I need space to put stuff (the figures are fine because they're on shelves beside the monitor).

>On your desk to the side (vertical)
>On your desk under your monitor, as they were originally intended (horizontal)
>On an end table near your desk so it doesn't take up space on your desk
>Mounted underneath your desk. This can either be Horizontal or Vertical depending on your preference
I'm most partial to the last option. My main computer is a toaster so I just have it mounted flat under my desk. A semi-decent one only costs about 20 bucks.
>but dude, my gpu
Either mount it with the motherboard on the bottom of the case or mount it tall instead of flat.
>but dude, my airflow?
Shouldn't really be an issue

Anonymous No.714579530

Without RGB? Yes, products tend to be both ARGB and RGB-less, but ironically enough, sometimes the RGB versions are cheaper, but you can just turn them off. Closed cases? They're becoming less common, but there are still options out there for relatively cheap, just keep in mind that they have good airflow.

As this anon said >>714578920 , PC building is now also about aesthetics and personalization, added to the fact that the USB ports on the cases are now placed on areas where placing the PC on the floor becomes inconvenient.

It's not, I like decorating my desk with things I like because I spend lots of time there. I work from home so I sit there all day with my work laptop connected to my monitor (to use as a second display), so it's nice having stuff like that around me while I'm working. And then when I'm at my desk outside of work hours to game on my desktop I like having that stuff there because it's characters from my favorite games (except for the radio, but it's there because I actually use it and not as a decoration).

I don't know about recently but over 30 years there's been several points that have obsoleted cases

1) atx itself is larger and more expensive than matx and everything the vast majority of people need can be bought onboard with the motherboard. If you forget something or don't predict something you need one slot.

2) Switch to bottom placement of the power supply is better so a real 140mm exhaust fan can go up top.

3) Disk drives / front bays fell out of use. If I need one I just use my USB one.

4) You don't need a stack of 3.5" drive bays anymore, most people don't need a hard disk at all. If they do it's just one you slap somewhere.

5) With all that shit out of the way you can get great airflow through the front of the case or front side corner.

6) Your graphics power cable will catch on fire if you case isn't wide enough

7) Your front USB needs upgrading.

To run DOS and older versions of Windows.
The 8235 is not only used to control the PC Speaker but it's a general timer that can be used for preemptive multitasking OSes and all that shit.
On Win 95/98/NT etc.. it is programmed to "interrupt" the CPU 512 times per second.
Basically, the PIT will tell the CPU to jump back to Windows after the time is up, so no program can kidnap the CPU forever.
On modern computers there are more advanced fancy timers that do exactly the same shit, but if you remove the PIT, you break old windows.

You can configure it to run the loop at any frame rate you want, and base all the timming and shit off that.
Unlike consoles, the PC don't have a video interrupt thing, so you use the PIT instead.

It's not the 5090 that's the problem, it's the founders edition
Also try power limiting, it pulls 575W at stock but can easily function at 400, why they're shipping these new cards with the crappy small fans instead of larger 120s or 140s without the gay plastic covering every inch of the heatsink is beyond me, would cool much better

Gets scratched up easily and will never look as clear. Even if you're careful and clean it often, it'll wear down overtime.

Bro why would you NEED a 1000w PSU if you game on a fucking 720p monitor. You do not have a 5090 with a monitor like that and if you do then you have more money in your bank account than bran cells in your head.

The case goes on the floor where it can whirr and whizz as much as it wants.
Not on top of the desk where I can put much more useful stuff instead.

Clean your room.

Oil immersion cooling requires full oil changes once every few months and that stuff starts at 50 USD per liter.
